Saman is a skilled labor and employment attorney dedicated to helping businesses navigate the complexities of workplace compliance, risk management, and litigation. She earned her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she also obtained a Certificate in Labor and Employment Law, solidifying her expertise in this dynamic field and her Legal Project Management Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification.
With experience in both government and private practice she has represented large county entities, big box companies, small family offices, and individual employers providing strategic counsel on a wide range of employment matters. In addition, Saman has provided specialized employment review during corporate transactions, ensuring that employment-related risks are properly assessed and mitigated when buying or selling a company.
Recognizing that a company’s employees can be its greatest asset—or its greatest liability—she works closely with human resources, directors, executives, and boards to develop sound employment practices, from hiring processes to terminations and compliance with evolving state and federal laws. Whether advising startups on foundational employment practices or guiding established corporations through complex compliance challenges, Saman delivers pragmatic, business-focused solutions tailored to her clients’ needs.
Saman has a deep understanding of federal employment laws, including Title VII, the ADA, and the FMLA, as well as state-specific regulations governing paid leave, accommodations, and workplace rights. She represented employers in EEOC, NLRB, and state administrative agency audits. She prides herself on having a practical approach and weighing the best course of action for her clients. Whether it is addressing a discrimination or harassment complaint, enforcing non-competition or non-solicitation agreements, conducting third-party investigations, Saman’s main goal is to provide organizations with actionable recommendations to address and strengthen their workforce management strategies.
Committed to fostering diversity and professional growth in the legal community, Saman is actively involved in the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago as the current President-Elect, advocating for inclusive opportunities and mentorship. She also gives back to her alma mater by teaching Trial Advocacy I and II as an Adjunct Professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law and volunteering as a coach for the Trial Advocacy Team, helping shape the next generation of litigators.
